Caliber Cuba Altura Lavado Beans Bag/340 g
From our Roast Master:
Altura Lavado refers specifically to high-altitude, washed Arabica coffee beans. Altura is Spanish for height—these beans are typically grown at around a thousand meters. Lavado refers to washed, or the processing method, emphasizing the coffee’s clarity and brightness by removing the cherry’s mucilage before drying.
The coffee grows under the forest canopy in very rich, humus soil—the circulation of trade winds from the Atlantic Ocean across the narrow farmland contribute greatly to overall quality. The plantations are managed by state-owned cooperatives & the use of fertilizer is prohibited.
Comparable to their much sought after cigars, this green bean is not easy to acquire. I roasted to a medium to emphasize the rich, opulent chocolate notes & subtle cherry finish. Smooth & easy drinking, this decadent coffee is great for serving at your social events but is best enjoyed in those serene moments.
