The Zelaya family has been growing classic Antigua Coffees on farms such as the Finca Carmona & the Bella Vista for generations. From these farms we get the name Bella Carmona, a fourth-generation farm owned & managed by Luis Pedro Zelaya. The 100-hectare farm sits between Vulcan de Agua & Vulcan de Fuego where a canopy of Grenville trees shades the Bourbon & Caturra coffee shrubs. The entire farm is managed using robust environmental & sustainable practices. Luis & his team are considered one of the most renowned producers, agronomists, & processors in Antigua.
The coffees are processed at Beneficio Bella Vista located near Antigua within the department of Sacatepéque. This coffee is fully washed & dried indoors using solar dryers which allow for constant monitoring of humidity and temperature.
I roasted this brilliant coffee to a light roast to best reveal a body rich with caramel & sumptuous honey notes, with a subtle hint of orange on the finish. Brew using your favorite manual brew method—enjoy!
