Caliber Mexico Impacto Beans Bag/2 lb
From our Roast Master:
Situated in the municipio of Amatenango la Frontera bordering Guatemala, Enjambre Cafetalero is a cooperative in the La Franja de Oro region, or the Golden Belt of coffee. For many years prior, the farmers of Amatenango could sell their coffee only to middlemen, who in-turn would then resell the coffee to the international commodity brokerage for export.
The cooperative was established in 2005 to bypass these predatory practices & provide direct-to-buyer opportunities. They next joined the non-profit Impacto Café & entered into the secondary-level organization Cafemex. This membership empowered them to sell directly to international buyers while also maintaining the traceability of their product. Cafemex also promotes soil & water conservation as well as environmentally responsible production practices including organic certification.
Roasting to a medium produces a very smooth & sweet coffee. The first sip reveals a hint of pecan followed by a rich, dark chocolate body enveloping a subtle raisin finish.
